About

Hi! My name is Tiffany Wan, 温家頤. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. The name WanWan came to be as a play on words combining my last name “Wan, 温” meaning warmth and “Wǎn, 碗” meaning bowl in Chinese. My logo is inspired by Chinese calligraphy and uses elements from my last name’s character while also reading out “WanWAn” in english.

WanWan Ceramics started on Instagram as a way to document my pottery journey. I started pottery in August 2020 during a difficult time in my life and fell in love with the feeling and movement of clay. Each piece is handmade by me and encapsulates a part of myself and my energy.

I am super thankful for my 师傅 / mentor Raymond Chau, for not only sharing his craft and life-long techniques with me but also for making me yummy food and drinks at the studio.

Pieces are made with cone 6 porcelain unless stated otherwise in the product description. Only food-safe clay and glazes are used. To retain the quality of your piece, hand-washing is recommended, however all pieces are dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Avoid sudden temperature changes such as moving your piece from the freezer to the oven as this could cause thermal shock or cracking.
